Sometimes a salad is just that – a salad. This was one of those cases. Despite layers of supposed intricacy, with artichoke hearts, pickles, and peppers, "Matt's Plate" remained the most anemic version of these vegetables. The whole of it tasted of nondescript Italian dressing and it felt colder than usual. There will be no lasting memories here, only a few quinoa grains stuck in the teeth. The coffee, as I remarked, was not coffee but rather "Java" like the name suggests. I trust you know what I mean.
